GYBC Hosting Annual Boosterpalooza Oct. 30
GRAYLING -- The Grayling Youth Booster Club is putting the “Boo!” into Boosterpalooza this year.
The organization’s third annual fundraiser is being held on Friday, Oct. 30 at the Armory at Camp Grayling. The event begins at 6 p.m., and includes dancing, a cash bar, costume contest, heavy hors d’oeuvres and live and silent auctions.
Tickets are $25 per person and include two drinks.
“A Halloween theme was perfect for this year because of the timing,” GYBC president Rob Aubry said. “We are encouraging everyone to wear costumes but they are not required.
“The first two years we raised more than $25,000 while having a great time for a great cause. There isn’t a youngster who grows up in the Grayling area that isn’t impacted in some way by the work of the GYBC. This has become our marquee fundraising event and we need the community’s support.”
All the money raised at the event benefits youth activities in Crawford County that the GYBC sponsors. Started in 1971, the GYBC has granted more than $2 million to the youth of Grayling, Crawford County and the Crawford AuSable Schools.
The Booster of the Year award will be presented during the festivities. Each year GYBC recognizes an individual for their contributions to youth activities in the area. Dianne Tobin was last year’s recipient.
The winners of the annual GYBC Raffle will also be drawn at the event. This year the GYBC is giving out five different prizes — a crossbow, muzzleloader, stand up paddleboard, his and hers bicycles and a 55-inch HDTV. Tickets are $10 each or three for $20. You need not be present at the Boosterpalooza to win one of the raffle prizes.
Event tickets and raffle tickets are on sale at The Medicine Shoppe, AuSable Eye Care, DuBois Lumber and Ole Dam Party Story.
